Norwegian Viva from Norwegian Cruise Line : Everything you need to know

Norwegian Viva is being built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri in Marghera, Italy, and was commissioned in August 2023. Like sister ship Norwegian Prima, this cruise ship will feature an upscale design and guests will be able to enjoy a new level of service due to the increased number of crew members. Norwegian Viva and Norwegian Prima will feature state-of-the-art alternative technologies such as a NOx reduction system (SCR), which will reduce the ships' overall environmental impact. On board, you can also find the Ocean Boulevard. This is an outdoor area of approximately 4000 square meters that extends around the entire ship.

About Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line is a US cruise line that was founded in Norway in 1966. Typical for the cruise line are the colorful paintings of the ships as well as the relaxed atmosphere and flexibility on board. Take advantage of various dining options without fixed table times and decide for yourself whether you prefer to dress casually or elegantly. The ships of Norwegian Cruise Line have an international flair and the onboard language is English. On all voyages, menus are available in German and, depending on the route and number of guests, guest service is also offered in German. However, a basic knowledge of English is recommended.

Atmosphere on board of Norwegian Viva

On board, things are relaxed and easy-going. Guests from numerous countries travel on Norwegian Cruise Line ships. You can pack festive attire because there is a gala evening in selected dining options. Don't feel like dressing up? That's no problem either, as there are no dress restrictions on board. Only swimwear and shorts are not encouraged in the main restaurants. Norwegian Cruise Line offers the perfect holiday for the young and young at heart. At the same time, there are always quiet corners, cosy bars and a secluded spot on deck, so that all guests seeking peace and quiet also get their money's worth.

Norwegian Viva restaurants

The traditional dining experience is being modernized with seven new restaurants and two new bars. Among the new restaurants are the Mediterranean seafood restaurant Palomar and the Asian-influenced Hasuki, a reinterpretation of the traditional "hibachi style restaurant." The new Nama sushi restaurant serves sushi and sashimi creations prepared by master chefs. At the new main restaurant, Hudson's, you'll enjoy breathtaking 270-degree views of the stern in addition to delicious dining. For more upscale cuisine, The Commodore Room will be your ideal choice. Both restaurants will feature a redesigned, extensive menu selection that offers you even more culinary variety - including the ability to create your own personal favorite pasta dishes in more than 24 combinations of different pastas, sauces and toppings.

You can also look forward to newly created menus in the main restaurants, as well as revamped menus in the popular restaurant classics Le Bistro, Cagney's Steakhouse and Food Republic, and the popular Observation Lounge.

The Surfside Café and Surfside Grill on Deck 17 offer a varied selection with self-service and dishes prepared à la minute for you upon request.

Rounding out your culinary experience on board is the new Belvedere Bar, a contemporary cocktail lounge featuring handcrafted cocktails and a modern, fresh take on classic drinks, and the Metropolitan Bar. The bar, as part of Norwegian Cruise Line's "Sail and Sustain" program, will delight with responsibly produced zero-waste cocktails made with surplus ingredients, as well as a fully sustainable spirits menu and biodynamic wines.

Entertainment, Sports and Relaxation

Explore the world on board the new cruise ship with the largest outdoor deck and discover spectacular attractions for young and old. Experience the thrill of the fastest free fall dry slides "The Rush" and "The Drop" on the high seas. Race towards the horizon on the first three-storey go-kart track on board the Prima-class ships. Explore virtual worlds and enjoy a glass of champagne at the Vibe Beach Club. On board Norwegian Viva, everyone gets their money's worth. The centre of all shows is the three-storey theatre, where you can experience the successful Broadway musical "Beetlejuice", among others. Late at night, the theatre transforms into a Vegas-style nightclub where you can enjoy late-night parties like the "Ocean Music Fest" and innovative light shows. Be part of the classic "Press Your Luck" show and win great prizes or support the participants as a spectator. The indoor gaming complex, the Galaxy Pavilion, is also expanding with 14 attractions to choose from, including two different Escape Rooms and a Topgolf Swing Suite.
