About Hurtigruten
Hurtigruten is a traditional norwegian cruise line. Since 1893 it is active in the mailboat service along the norwegian fjord coast. Every day one of the 11 mailboats starts in Bergen to the 12 day post ship route. Meanwhile Hurtigruten also offers exciting expedition cruises through South America, the Antarctica and lots of other destinations. They always focus on sustainability, that's why the ships all sail with sustainable fuel and they don't want to pollute the environment in which they sail. Rubbish collecting is only one of the interesting shore excursions.
About Fridtjof Nansen
The Fridtjof Nansen is the newest vessel of the Hurtigruten-fleet and the second custom-made expedition ship of the next generation. The ship was launched in 2020 and provides space for 530 guests. The Fridtjof Nansen is an innovative expedition vessel, carried by a new environmental friendly and sustainable hybrid technology while holding the fuel consumption as low as possible. The sophisticated interieur reflects the impressing landscape in which the ship is sailing. Spacious and elegant cabins are matching the public areas, which are designed with natual nordic and scandinavian materials. She ship provides oceanview cabins only while offering three unique specialty restaurants, a gym, pool and jacuzzy. As expedition cruising is the most important factor for cruising with Hurtigruten, the new vessel is equipped with specially constructed tender boats for polar waters. Furthermore, an experienced team of experts shares in-debth knowledge about the polar waters and the culture of phenomenons of the destinations. The vessel was named after the Nobel Price holder Fridtjof Nansen. He was famous for the innovation and development of arctic expeditions and the first one to crossing Greenland on cross-country skees between 1893 and 1896.

Sustainability
As the first cruise line Hurtigruten has banned all single-use plastic from its fleed. These things, e. g. straws oder plastic bags will be replaced by paper or other biological disposable material.

The Fridtjof Nansen is a very stylish furnished ship with three specialty restaurants, a large fitness centre, a pool and a whirlpool. In the foreground of the cruises is the exploration of the things. The Zodiacs were specially built for the cruises in arctic waters. The main restaurant 'Aune' offers you a rich breakfast buffet and a great lunch and dinner offer with various buffets or three to five course dinners. In the restaurant 'Fredheim' you can enjoy international dishes from around the world and in the 'Lindstrom' you can enjoy your dinner a la carte. Here, the finest cuisine of Norway awaits you.
