About Phoenix Reisen
The German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973. In 1988 they started cruising the oceans with the charter of the ship Maxim Gorki. Starting as a pure ocean shipping company, Phoenix Reisen expanded its range in 1993 to include the popular river cruises. The four well-known ocean liners are now joined by more than 30 river ships as well as a few smaller ships for exceptional destinations. The shipping company is still in family hands and attaches great importance to a friendly and pleasant atmosphere aboard their ships.
The MS Ariana was put into service in the Netherlands in 2012 after its completion. This modern comfort class ship impresses with tastefully designed cabins, 80 % of which have a French balcony. Spacious lounges and the sundeck with whirlpool make the relaxing cruise experience perfect. 158 passengers can be accommodated on board the MS Ariana over a length of 110 meters and on 4 passenger decks.

All staterooms aboard the MS Ariana are outside staterooms. There are large panoramic windows on the Saturn and Orion decks that can be opened to a French balcony. The staterooms on the Neptune deck have smaller windows that cannot be opened for security reasons. The size of the staterooms varies between 12 and 14 sqm. All staterooms have basic facilities with shower/WC, a hairdryer, an adjustable air conditioning, a TV, a radio, a safe, a telephone and a daily newspaper. The voltage 230 V AC. The beds on the Saturn or Orion deck can be set up as single or double beds.
Atmosphere on board of Ariana
As on all Phoenix ships, the atmosphere on board the MS Ariana is cosy and informal. The dress code on board is casual, at the traditional captain's dinner the wardrobe should be more elegant, but evening wear is not needed. Regional events, live music and light entertainment will make your cruise on the MS Ariana a relaxing treat. Due to the fact that the tour operator is a German company the onboard language is German and guests pay their bills in Euro.
All inclusive catering awaits you on board the Ariana. House wines, draft beer, non-alcoholic beer, soft drinks such as cola, lemonade, mineral water, juices and coffee/tea are included in the price every day from 8 am to midnight. Look forward to a rich breakfast buffet and enjoyable lunches and dinners in the form of multi-course menus. The experienced kitchen and service team spoils you on board the MS Ariana with all the amenities that the kitchen has to offer. On request, meals can also be prepared gluten-free, lactose-free or diabetic-friendly. If you want, you can also take afternoon coffee and lunch. There are also themed evenings, the captain's reception and the captain's dinner with a festive menu. Your physical well-being is well taken care of on board.
Entertainment, sports & relaxation
During the trip you can expect regular dance evenings with live music. A selection of books, board and card games is available to you. On deck you can enjoy the wide range of sun loungers with sun protection, the whirlpool and the bar service. The hairdressing and massage salon on board ensures deep relaxation. Those who do not want to live without sporting activities during the trip can work out in the ship's small fitness room.
Ariana shore excursions
Through a variety of shore excursions, you have the opportunity to get to know the country and its people along the route. The excursion program is adapted to the length of stay of the ship and is accompanied by qualified tour guides. The excursions are usually in German language. The shore excursions can be booked directly on board or partly in advance online at the cruise company. Girocard and VISA/MasterCard are accepted on board.
