Amera is the latest ship which joined the fleet. It was christened on 16th August 2019 in Bremerhaven. The ship was built in 1988 as Royal Viking Sun and was transfered to different cruise lines after that. Before it joined the fleet of Phoenix Reisen it had hosted passengers of Holland America Line and had been well-known with its name Prinsendam. In summer 2019 the ship stayed for several weeks in a dry dock in Hamburg, Germany where it was renovated and modernised. According to the small size people can travel to extraordinary ports with Amera. The popular promenade deck and the lookout on top of the bridge exist aboard of Amera as well.
In 1973 the German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded. For more than 30 years cruises have been offered. Apart from the high sea cruising the tour operator offers river cruises to world wide destinations. The high sea ships are characterized by their small size visiting extraordinary ports. Many regular guests have travelled with Phoenix Reisen for the last decades and have appreciated the familiar and warm atmosphere.
More than 90 % of the staterooms are oceanview or balcony staterooms or suites. The share of interior staterooms is very small. The staterooms are furnished very modern and in bright colours. Regardless of the category all staterooms are equipped with air condition, tv, telephone, mini bar, safe and hair dryer. In the junior suites and suites Nespresso machines for a tasty coffee are provided. The size varies depending on the category. Interior staterooms start at approximately 16 sqm and Royal Suites lead up to approximately 80 sqm including the balcony.
During your holiday with Phoenix Reisen you get to know some parts of the classic style of cruising in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Due to the ship's size guests will feel comfortable with the familiar atmosphere which makes a cruise with Phoenix Reisen memorable.

There are also several lounges, cafés and bars (not included) that round off the culinary offerings. For example, enjoy the view in the Panorama-Lounge or end your evening with a drink in Harry's Bar.
For the daily entertainment aboard there are different programs shown in the Atlantik Show-Lounge. Live music is offered in the Piano Salon. According to the size and the facilities aboard Amera fits well to the fleet of Phoenix Reisen and its regular guests. The Panorama-Lounge and the modern restaurants are our favourite places. We recommend voyages with Amera to couples which prefer a more classic way of cruising and wants to various smaller ports.
