Boarding
- Lacked greeting and arrival info at Kiel train station. No mention of the very remote harbour location "Ostuferkai", free COVID testing facilities and public transport options.
- unlike AIDA and others, MSC was NOT present at all, no staff, no busses also no mention of ferry to the cruise ship
- Boarding poorly organized, from the 12 check-in desks 4 where not staffed, took for me over 1 hr of waiting around in windy tent
- Reboarding at destinations similar, insufficient security gates it took up to 30min wait, unacceptable
On Board
- Most flawless and perfect, efficient services by well trained staff. Found generally speaking Indonesian staff less attentive, less service oriented and often confused/forgot orders while Philippino staff were superb!
- Food quality/quantity/diversity excellent, although meat unfortunately was most often overcooked and dry. Great to have fresh salads/fruits diversity
- Services at all estwblishent were extremely time efficient and smooth
- Missed a dancing venue for casual relaxation and meeting of people
Deboarding
- For guest will long travel back home, and earlier deboarding would be appreciated, the schuttles back to city only start at 10am. Almost 1.5 hrs after gates opened
- Most hottible, and unfortunatelz leaving a very bad taste behind, was the experience with taking the train back to Hamburg and onward. Although it might not be a direct responsibility of MSC, the massivlzy lack of train capacity caused severe overcrowding, train delays of over 1.5 hrs and a polcie clearing of the train due to overcrowding. One would think that DB and the cruise comanies would have agreed on sufficient and additional capacities during multiple ships docking. I thnk the experience does damamge the otherwise flawlwess brand reputation and makes me seriously tzhink of not using the Kiel ports anymore. Who wants to be asked to leave the train in the middle of a trip? As MSC maangement, would certainly make sure that mz customers have and equal enjoyable trip to/from ports.
Bizzare and poor IT infrastructure
- The MSC Apps does not support dark mode, can't see text
- The apps showed Flam as day 8 destination instead of Kiel caused confusion till middle of cruise
- The Apps did not connect to ship network until the ship version was downloaded
- Apps does not allow screen shots, so can't share and promote with friends
- Satellite IPTV link often disrupted, not just in Fyords, maybe time to upgrade to Musk's Starlink system?
Summary
I was extremely satisfied and cruise exceeded my expectations in every way. The ship is in brand new condition, felt extremely clean and I hope MSC continues to care and provide preemptive maintenance to prevent rust and dirt to build up. The retrun travel on DB unfortunately dampened my overall satifaction with the cruise experience+
I plan to book another cruise shorty with a larger group of friends, maybe with another company to see if they are more respectful of the boarding and port travel with their clients.

- Excellent tools, emali responses a bit slow at times (2 to 3 days) but overall satisfied.
Port location, clear deboarding, local covid testing facilities could have been shared. Also warnings of poor transport facilities to the ports. (See above).
