    Overall impression of your cruise

      • Rate your cruise with the Carnival Horizon in one sentence:
      • Disappointed with - quality & selection of food;ridiculous permanent length of queues (35 on one count!) with only 2 attending the desk - when 'phoning them, they immediately cut off your calls; disturbance at 2am for an hour while the water park pump cycling equipment nightly runs it's maintenance (My cabin was 11263; poor bar service at the casino tables; poor theatre layout in upper tier causing vastly obstructed view; inflated charges generally all round at EVERY opportunity e.g. $17 at Marseilles for port shuttles, charging $2.95 for one Earl Grey tea bag. The $35 airport shuttle on the final morning almost left without me, then 'dumped us at the wrong end of the terminal across a busy road - from Arrivals!!...I had to drag my luggage on bumpy footpaths for almost a mile in the rain & my arms & shoulders were in agony. I then ran in to others who told of having to get taxis from the Carnival shuttle drop off point. Also, Carnival added mystery charges to my account for drinks when I want even on board. This happened many, many times to guests I chatted to. One of my group had $1,900 added for jewellery! Also, the $35 airport shuttle set me down a 40 minute walk from Departures!

      • Noise from water park above my face nightly waking me up from 1.50am...very loud noise from gallons of water rushing like Niagara. Despite my complaints of being kept awake all week, leaving the cabin with pillows to try to sleep on deck (in chilly April) because of the noise and worry that the ceiling could cave in on me given that there were laundry room leaks top to bottom, NOBODY told me what was causing the noise. I found it both irritating & frightening.

      • The ship may be beautiful, shiny & new but my vacation was ruined by sleep deprivation from nightly noise. Moreover, Guest Services would be greatly improved if Carnival hired baby chimpanzees to man the 'phones. Quite why Amy is trained to 'answer' guests' calls by lifting the receiver a centimetre & immediately replacing it, I don't know. Shame on you Carnival.

        Carnival attempted to steal from my account, not only by adding unsolicited charges for beverages that I didn't (& couldn't) have - but also removed 50% of my on board credit PER CABIN because my friend fell ill & couldn't board!! Such a cheek!

      • I experienced language barriers in matters arising after my booking. I asked simple questions regarding a €10 euro coupon & my on board credit which were not understood by seascanner. The matter, although time wasting & upsetting for me, was eventually resolved by complaining formally to a manager.
