Returning to the ship

The idyllic royal town of Litomerice (Leitmeritz) on the banks of the Elbe in Czechia is a popular stop for river cruises and, thanks to its central location in Bohemia, is easily accessible by car, train, or plane from the DACH region. The berths for cruise ships are located in the immediate vicinity of the historic city center.

Car

The journey to Litomerice is easy via the Czech D8 motorway, which leads directly to the region from the German side as the A17 federal motorway coming from Dresden. In Litomerice itself, various parking options are available, including free parking spaces near the boat landing, for example at Labská 11 or Velká Mlýnská 25, which are suitable for both short and long-term parking.

Train

Litomerice has several train stations, with "Litoměřice město" centrally located at the bus station and equipped with a café and snack bar. "Litoměřice horní nádraží" is also a modernized station with barrier-free access and ticket counters, located just 700 meters north of the city center. From Dresden or Berlin, you can reach Ústí nad Labem by Eurocity, from where regional trains reach Litomerice in about 25 minutes. Arrival from Prague is also possible by regional or express train via Všetaty or directly from Prague Holešovice to Litoměřice horní nádraží in approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Airplane

The nearest international airports are Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), about 50 kilometers away, and Dresden Airport (DRS), approximately 71 kilometers away. For a comfortable onward journey, a rental car or a private transfer is recommended from both airports, as public transport connections are considered cumbersome. Several providers such as MyTransfers or Prague Airport Transfers offer private shuttle services from Prague Airport to Litomerice. For a relaxed start to your river cruise, especially for long-haul flights, an overnight stay in a pre-cruise hotel in Prague or Litomerice is recommended.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
