Queen Mary 2 Atmosphere on Board
The QM 2 - as the ship is also called - is a very special cruise ship. It continues the tradition of transatlantic liners. This is also shown in its exclusive features, which include numerous exhibits and maritime decorations, bringing the flair and luxury of past glories of the Atlantic Liners back to life. The dignified furnishings in the English style, the personal and unobtrusive service, the numerous entertainment options as well as the excellent cuisine promise a voyage no other cruise ship does. On board, all ages feel comfortable, even if families and younger guests are the exception among the guests.
Queen Mary 2 Food and Beverages
Various restaurants, cafes and bars aboard the Queen Mary 2 offer culinary highlights at the highest stage. The main restaurant Britannia is spread over two decks. Here culinary delights are offered in two sessions for the passengers of the Britannia cabins (cat. B1 to D6). Guests of the Princess Grill and the Queens Grill category dine in the restaurants of the same name. The menus presented here are created by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud. The Verandah Restaurant delights its guests with contemporary French cuisine, with seasonal and fresh ingredients (specialty restaurant at extra charge). Delicious food is also served in the casual buffet restaurants. The culinary offer is rounded off by various thematic areas, which offer à la carte menus for an extra charge.
Queen Mary 2 Entertainment, Sports and Relaxation
From British 5 o'clock tea with piano music to dance and live music, to a visit of the only planetarium at sea - the Queen Mary 2 offers so many different experiences that boredom on board is unheard. Broadway shows in the splendid Royal Court Theater, the latest films in the Illuminations-Cinema, a visit to the well-stocked library of 8,000 books, or an evening at the hip G32 nightclub - everyone will find their favorite place aboard. This can also be the teak-covered outdoor promenade, where you can walk round the ship, enjoy the fresh sea air and just relax.
During the last modernization, the "Queen of the Seas" also got a new public area: the Carinthia Lounge. During the day, Carinthia Lounge offers a peaceful retreat where you can relax, meet friends or enjoy light breakfast and lunch specialties. As the sun goes down, the quiet lounge turns into a welcoming bar serving premium wines and appetizers.
Wellness lovers are also in good hands on board. You can pamper yourself with a massage or Rasul bath at the Canyon Ranch Spa® or relax in the various pools or hot tubs aboard. If you want to learn more about healthy eating and lifestyle, visit one of the offered seminars. For more active guests there is a golf simulator on board as well as one of the most modern fitness clubs at sea - including a wonderful sea view.
