Returning to the ship

Komarno is an important Danube cruise port in Slovakia and is easily accessible for guests from the DACH region by car, train, or plane. The city is located at the confluence of the Váh and the Danube, which forms the border with Hungary here, and offers a charming historic town center. The port specializes in river cruises and has the necessary infrastructure for embarkation.

Car

Komarno is accessible via well-maintained roads. From the west (Bratislava, Vienna), the Slovak main road 63 leads directly into the city. Coming from the Hungarian side, Komarno (Komárom) can be reached via the M1 motorway (Vienna-Budapest), which lies about 10 km south of the city. A bridge connects Komárno and the Hungarian Komárom, simplifying travel from Hungary. Parking facilities are available in Komarno, for example at the port itself or near the center. Marina-alt offers guarded short- and long-term parking spaces directly on the riverbank with additional services.

Train

Komárno railway station is well connected to the Slovak rail network. From Bratislava, you can reach Komárno in about 2 hours by train. From there, you can easily reach the cruise terminal, which is within walking distance of the city center, by taxi or local transport. The neighboring Hungarian town of Komárom, which is also accessible by train from Budapest (approx. 1 hour journey), is only about a 15-minute walk away across the Danube Bridge.

Airplane

The nearest international airports are Bratislava (BTS) and Budapest (BUD). Bratislava Airport (BTS) is approximately 80-82 km away and a car journey takes around 1 hour and 15 to 30 minutes. Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport (BUD) is about 93 km away and the travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Private transfer services and taxis are available from both airports. For a relaxed arrival, especially on longer flights, we recommend staying overnight in Komarno the day before embarkation.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
