The route follows the well-maintained Highway 27 and the Costanera Sur (Highway 34) along the Pacific coast.

Due to the long journey from the DACH region and the transfer times, an overnight stay in San José or directly in Quepos/Manuel Antonio on the day before embarkation is highly recommended. The city center of Quepos can be reached in about 5 to 10 minutes via a relaxed stroll along the waterfront promenade. The path leads directly from Marina Pez Vela into the heart of the city and allows you to get a first impression of the local shops and cafés.

Taxi

Official taxis wait for passengers directly at the marina exit and at the city's central park. These offer a convenient option for trips to the Manuel Antonio National Park, located about 15 minutes away, and allow for a flexible planning of your stay.

Public Buses

Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is located just fifteen minutes away from the port and, with Playa Manuel Antonio, offers a paradisiacal combination of light sandy beach and tropical rainforest. Thanks to its calm, crystal-clear water, the protected bay is perfect for a relaxed swim, while with a bit of luck, you can observe capuchin monkeys and sloths directly near the beach. The park features well-maintained walking paths as well as sanitary facilities and also offers a good infrastructure with cafes for local specialties directly at the entrance area. Ideally, start your excursion in the early morning to experience the impressive wildlife in mild temperatures and return to the ship relaxed in the early afternoon.

Returning to the ship

The way back to Marina Pez Vela is very straightforward thanks to the short distances and good connections to Manuel Antonio National Park.

Public Bus

The local bus between Manuel Antonio National Park and the center of Quepos runs regularly every 15 to 20 minutes and takes you directly to the central bus station. From there, it is a comfortable walk of just a few minutes to Marina Pez Vela, where the tender boats or the ship await you.

Taxi

Official red taxis are available at all times at the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park as well as in front of the larger hotels along the main road. Thanks to the direct connection and short travel time, you will reach the marina safely and on time, with drivers dropping you off directly at the port entrance area.

On Foot

From the city center of Quepos, the path to Marina Pez Vela is flat and well-maintained, and you can reach the port within about 10 minutes. The route follows the shore road and offers easy orientation as well as a safe environment for a relaxed stroll back to the pier.
