The ideal starting point for your journey is São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), which is served directly from Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich or via comfortable connecting flights. From there, you can reach the coast at São Sebastião in about a three-hour drive, with private transfers or rental cars allowing for a flexible and direct journey to the ferry terminal.
Transfer & Ferry
The journey from the metropolis of São Paulo leads via well-developed highways such as the Rodovia dos Tamoios (SP-099) or the Rodovia Ayrton Senna (SP-070) through the picturesque coastal mountains. Once in São Sebastião, you take the modern car ferry (Balsa), which crosses the channel in about 15 to 20 minutes and, thanks to departures every 30 minutes, ensures a quick connection to the island.

Due to the transfer time of around 200 kilometers and the reliance on ferry traffic, arriving at least one day before your planned embarkation is recommended.
