The Costa Serena was built in 2007 and can accommodate a total of 3,780 passengers. Starting in June 2026, you’ll be able to embark on your voyages aboard a newly renovated ship. Guests can expect a blend of Italian elegance and modernity, as well as relaxation and activity. The ship was named after ancient Greek mythology and its mythical creatures, a theme reflected in the onboard décor. The Costa Serena initially sailed the Mediterranean, but is currently deployed exclusively in the Asian market. The newly refurbished Costa Serena will delight you with fresh experiences brimming with colour, light and iconic details. Its public areas have been completely refurbished and designed in a modern pop style, featuring bold colours and creative displays.

Sustainability Costa Serena

Since 2014, the Costa Crociere Foundation has been coordinating all of Costa Cruises' social and environmental initiatives. Through 32 projects, the foundation has already reached over 185,000 people in more than 130 countries. Its work ranges from educational programmes and environmental protection measures to social aid programmes implemented both in port cities and beyond. The foundation ensures that 100% of donations go directly to projects dedicated to current social and environmental challenges. With its new interactive educational project, ‘Guardians of the Sea,’ the cruise line continues to promote sustainability and environmental education. The playful and entertaining way in which children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 17 are made aware of the importance of protecting the oceans plays a key role here. Through engaging activities, participants learn about sustainable behaviour and how to protect the oceans. Costa Serena staterooms

On board the Costa Serena you have the choice between numerous comfortably furnished staterooms. The interior staterooms are approx. 9 to 14 sqm, while the oceanview staterooms have a size between approx. 13 and 19 sqm. The balcony staterooms are approx. 13 sqm in size. The various suites not only offer luxury, but also a unique view of the sea. The sizes of the suites range from the approx. 15 to 21 sqm Mini Suite to the approx. 21 to 24 sqm Suite to the Grand Suite with a size of approx. 29 sqm. It convinces not only with a dressing room, but also with a bathtub with whirlpool function.

Atmosphere on Board

As is typical of Costa cruises, great emphasis is placed on hospitality and Italian joie de vivre on board. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere found on other ships is also evident on board the Costa Serena. The guest mix is international. Following its refurbishment, the ship will impress you even more. Every area on board feels like a film set where you take centre stage. The lighting, colours and surroundings create a wonderful atmosphere.

Costa Serena restaurants, bars & lounges

Italy is famous for its excellent cuisine. It is therefore not surprising that the Italian shipping company also places great value on culinary delights on board.

The following restaurants are included in the price:

  • Buffet restaurant (open for breakfast and lunch)
  • Vesta restaurant (main restaurant): Here you will be served breakfast, lunch and dinner at your table. The menu is à la carte.
  • Ceres Restaurant (main restaurant): Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at your table here. The menu is à la carte.


In the following restaurants you pay an extra charge:

  • Restaurant Archipelago: The most exclusive and intimate restaurant on board serves dishes created by international chefs Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León.
  • Pizzeria Pummid' Oro: Enjoy a freshly prepared pizza made with high-quality ingredients and a slow-risen sourdough.
  • The Salty Beach Street Food: Are you a burger fan? Here you’ll find the authentic flavours of street food.
  • Fiorentina Steak House: Here you’ll be treated to the finest Italian cuts of meat, such as the Florentine T-bone steak and the Piedmontese Fassona steak, as well as Irish Black Angus and organic chicken.
  • Sushino at Costa: Do you like nigiri, maki, sashimi and mochi? Then this sushi bistro is just the place for you.


In the various lounges and bars (not included) like the Pantheon Bar or the Apollo Grand Bar, you can use your drinks packages, enjoy drinks and make new contacts. In the exclusive, secret speakeasy bar, hidden behind a colorful painting, you feel as if you have been transported back in time. At Gelateria Amarillo, you can enjoy some ice cream, or you can sip a special wine at the Wine Bar on Deck 5.

Entertainment, sports and wellness

The entertainment on board the Costa Serena is diverse and varied, offering something for every age group. In the three-story theater, you can enjoy world-class stage shows: musicals, variety acts, acrobatics, and much more. Try your luck at the casino or enjoy live music in the bars in the evening. The Main Hall is also being redesigned and will welcome you with more light, reflective surfaces and an iconic glowing cloud. The Main Hall is also known as the ship’s pop heart.

The four swimming pools—one of which features a retractable glass roof—and five whirlpools offer refreshment during the day, while the spectacular Toboga water slide provides plenty of fun.

Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to do on board the Costa Serena and can work up a sweat in the fitness center. Those who prefer to relax can pamper themselves in the large spa area. The wellness center offers various saunas, a Turkish steam bath, as well as wellness treatments and massages, some of which are available for a fee.

The Squok Kids’ Club is the gathering place for children ages 3–11 on board the Costa Serena.
