Port information & tips for Chignik

West Palm Beach is a glamorous jewel on Florida's Gold Coast and impresses as a luxurious cruise destination with a blend of tropical elegance and urban chic. The sun-drenched region delights visitors thanks to its palm-lined boulevards, exclusive boutiques, and a unique flair that combines old-world charm with a modern lifestyle. Outstanding attractions in the immediate vicinity include the magnificent Henry Morrison Flagler Museum and the famous Worth Avenue, while the crystal-clear water around Peanut Island directly in front of the harbor invites you to relax. Ships dock at the Port of Palm Beach in Cruise Terminal 1, from where the vibrant downtown of West Palm Beach and exclusive Palm Beach can be easily reached in about fifteen minutes by car.

The Port of Palm Beach in Riviera Beach, Florida, serves as a convenient starting point for cruises, especially to the Bahamas. Thanks to its proximity to Palm Beach International Airport and good road connections, the port is easily accessible, although arrival the day before is recommended for guests from the DACH region.

Airplane

The nearest airport is Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), located only about 8.5 to 9 miles (approx. 14 km) from the cruise terminal. The travel time is usually 15 to 20 minutes. Alternatively, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), about 53 miles (approx. 85 km) south with a 50 to 70-minute drive, or Miami International Airport (MIA), around 78 miles (approx. 125 km) south and 75 to 90 minutes away, are available, as these often offer more direct flight options from Europe.

Auto

The port is easily accessible via Interstate 95 (I-95) and Florida's Turnpike. From the I-95, take Exit 76 (Blue Heron Boulevard) and follow it east to US-1 (Broadway), where you turn right and then left into 11th Street. Secure self-parking is available for cruise passengers directly at the terminal for approximately 19 US dollars per day. For longer cruises, off-site parking options with shuttle services can be a more affordable alternative.

Pre-Cruise Hotel & Transfer

Particularly after a long-haul flight from the DACH region, an overnight stay in a pre-cruise hotel before embarkation is recommended to start the cruise relaxed. Hotels near Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), in Downtown West Palm Beach, or on Singer Island are popular options. Many hotels near the airport offer free shuttle services to PBI. From the hotel or airport, you can easily reach the cruise terminal by taxi or ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft. Private transfer services also offer comfortable rides from all surrounding airports directly to the port. Embarkation usually begins between 12:00 and 12:30 PM.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will typically receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally about one hour before the scheduled departure.

The same applies during the trip: For shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
