Puerto del Rosario is the charming capital of Fuerteventura and welcomes visitors with a relaxed atmosphere and authentic Canarian flair. The city presents itself as an impressive open-air museum and delights thanks to the extensive sculpture park with over 150 works of art scattered throughout the urban area. Cultural highlights include the historical Casa Museo de Miguel de Unamuno as well as the sunny Playa de los Pozos, which invites you to linger directly on the waterfront promenade. Cruise ships dock at the central Muelle de Cruceros, from which the lively city center is easily reachable in a leisurely ten-minute walk. This excellent connection allows travelers to explore the sights and shops of the city with complete flexibility and directly on foot.
Puerto del Rosario is the central hub for cruise ships on Fuerteventura and is characterized by its excellent proximity to the international airport as well as its direct location by the city center. The terminal at the Muelle de Cruceros offers a modern infrastructure and enables a particularly comfortable check-in thanks to short distances.
Airplane
Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) is located only about six kilometers south of the port and is served directly by almost all major airports in the DACH region such as Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, or Zurich. The travel time to the terminal is usually less than 15 minutes by taxi or shuttle, allowing for a stress-free arrival on the day of embarkation.
Transfer & Taxi
From the airport, you can reach the cruise terminal comfortably and affordably by taxi, which is available directly in front of the arrival hall. Alternatively, bus line 3 (Guagua) runs every 15 to 30 minutes between the airport and the central bus station in Puerto del Rosario, from where you can reach the ship after a short walk or a brief taxi ride.
Car Rental & Parking
Travelers can quickly reach the port area from the south and from the airport via the well-developed FV-2 coastal road. For guests arriving a few days early, numerous car rental stations at the airport offer convenient drop-off options near the harbor; additionally, public parking areas for uncomplicated vehicle storage can be found directly at the Muelle de Cruceros.
