Mein Schiff 7

Mein Schiff is implementing specific measures in several areas related to environmental protection. In general, efforts are made to reduce waste on board and to sort it. Any waste generated is then picked up by waste disposal services in port and processed or recycled on land. Currently, 90% of the fresh water on board is sourced from the sea and treated before it leaves the ship. 

The following projects are currently underway:

Plastic Reduction Program: Plastic and single-use products are avoided on board as much as possible, and whenever feasible, materials made from renewable resources are used. For example, washable cotton aprons are used in the kitchen, and guests will find refillable soap dispensers in the cabins.

Shore Excursion Program: In this area, Mein Schiff follows the independent guidelines of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and gives preference to shore excursion operators that hold a GSTC-recognized sustainability certification. 

Shore Power: The entire Mein Schiff fleet has already been retrofitted for shore power, and all new ships are equipped with a shore power connection right from the shipyard. Using shore power reduces emissions of sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter.

Textiles and Interior Design: Mein Schiff partners with Dibella to supply the terry cloth items in the cabins and the guest linens. Dibella manufactures its products from 100 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton. GOTS certification establishes environmental requirements for cotton cultivation as well as social and environmental criteria for further processing throughout the supply chain.

The Mein Schiff 7 has a total of approximately 1,447 staterooms spread across 15 decks, most of which have their own balcony. From interior to oceanview and balcony staterooms, spa balcony staterooms, and even luxurious suites, there's something for every taste!

For solo travelers, both interior and oceanview single staterooms are available, both of which are specially designed for single travelers and each offer 8 sqm of space.

The standard interior, oceanview, and balcony staterooms with bright interiors can accommodate up to four people and are approximately 17 sqm in size.

To meet the special needs of families, the Mein Schiff 7 offers the family oceanview staterooms (up to 6 people) and the family balcony staterooms (up to 5 people), which include a games console, among other amenities.

Those seeking a little more luxury and freedom will feel at home in the suites. In addition to the Junior Suite with balcony, you can choose between the Himmel & Meer Suite, Schöne Aussicht Suite, Horizont Suite, Übersee Suite and the Panorama Suite.

Our personal favorite is the Panorama Suite, with a living space of approximately 73-77 squm and a veranda measuring approximately 31-36 sqm. Here, you'll have plenty of space for your very own vacation memories, as well as an impressive view of the Diamond, the architectural highlight at the stern of the Mein Schiff 7. Is there anything better than relaxing in your private hammock and letting the fresh sea air blow around your nose?

The main onboard language is German. The atmosphere is relaxed - similar to an upscale club hotel. Especially middle-aged guests feel very comfortable on board. During holidays many families are guests aboard. They appreciate the relaxed atmosphere, the possibility to do sports and the large variety of fine dining options. Almost all food, beverages and gratuities are already included in the cruise price. This distinguishes TUI Cruises - Mein Schiff from other cruise lines.

The numerous restaurants and bars on board Mein Schiff 7 offer a wide variety of culinary delights. You can expect a culinary variety ranging from traditional to modern dishes.

The following restaurants are included in the price:

• Anckelmannsplatz (buffet restaurant): Here you can expect a variety of dishes from the hot and cold buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Fischmarkt: Enjoy specialities from the sea, e.g. fish and seafood.
• Atlantik - Mediterranean: Savour a variety of meat and fish dishes, vegetarian and vegan dishes in a Mediterranean ambience.
• Atlantik - Classic: Enjoy a rich breakfast buffet in the morning and daily changing 5-course menus in the evening.
• Tag & Nacht-Bistro: The bistro is open almost around the clock - ideal for a small midnight snack.
• Backstube (in the buffet restaurant): Here you can sample crispy bread rolls, delicious sandwiches or exquisite tarts.
• Bosporus snack bar: Discover hearty, savoury dishes such as doner kebab, falafel or Belgian potatoes with delicious sauces.
• Ganz schön gesund-Bistro: Enjoy balanced and healthy dishes with fresh and selected ingredients.

You pay a surcharge in the following speciality restaurants:

• Surf & Turf Steakhouse: Sample tasty grilled specialities from land and sea and discover the extensive wine list.
• Hideki-Asian delights: Savour Asian delicacies and exquisite sushi creations.
• La Spezia: Look forward to Mediterranean delicacies and Italian specialities.

In the numerous bars and lounges (17), you can savour delicious cocktails in the TUI Bar or enjoy an aperitif in the Schau Bar. End the day in the Champagner Treff (not included) with a sparkling glass of exquisite champagne. We also recommend the Café Central (not included), where you can enjoy excellent coffee and pastry specialities.

On board Mein Schiff 7, guests can look forward to a great range of entertainment. Experience unique magic shows, artistry or cinema performances on the show stage. In the theatre you can look forward to plays, variety shows, opera and musicals. In the "Abtanz Bar" you can turn night into day. On board Mein Schiff 7, in addition to a dance floor and bar, you will also find a smoke-free casino with a live table and several slot machines.

There are also plenty of opportunities to relax: In the large spa area, there is a Finnish sauna with a panoramic view of the sea, steam bath, herbal sauna and foot baths. Of course, you can also enjoy classic massages and cosmetic treatments or relax in the relaxation room. The whirlpools invite you to relax, while the outdoor pool provides pleasant refreshment during the day.

If you want to be active on holiday, you can also use the extensive fitness area or do a few laps on the outdoor jogging track.

For children, there is a Kids Club on board that cares for children ages 3–11. The age groups are as follows: 

• Krabben: 3–5 years
• Seeteufel: 6–8 years
• Piranhas: 9–11 years

The Kids Club is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. During mealtimes with the Kids Club counselors at the Anckelmannsplatz buffet restaurant, there is no separate supervision at the Kids Club.

There’s also a teen program on board for teens ages 12–17. They’re welcome in the Sturmfrei Teen Lounge. Whether they’re sports enthusiasts, looking to relax, interested in food, or creative, there are plenty of highlights to keep them from getting bored. In general, according to the current STIKO recommendation, adolescents are required to be fully vaccinated (including two doses of the measles vaccine) in order to participate in the program.

Shore excursions can be booked both before your trip and, depending on availability, on board. The excursions are organized by local tour operators, and the on-site tour guides make every effort to offer them in German. However, it is possible that some excursions may be conducted in English. The cycling, e-bike, and e-scooter excursions, as well as the golf and diving excursions organized by TUI Cruises, are always accompanied by a German-speaking activity expert.

The ships of TUI Cruises - Mein Schiff offer a German-speaking cruise as a "first class" club holiday with a lot of comfort for all those who like to experience a lot and attach importance to comfort and good food. The "Premium Inclusive Services" concept already includes a great many services that otherwise often cost extra on cruises.
