Port information & tips for Cádiz

Cádiz, the charming port city on the Andalusian Atlantic coast, is considered one of the oldest cities in Western Europe. The "Tacita de Plata" (Silver Teacup) captivates with its unique location on a narrow peninsula, surrounded by a historic city wall and the glistening sea. Architectural gems such as the magnificent Cathedral of Cádiz with its golden dome, the historic Torre Tavira watchtower, and the Castillo de San Sebastián await in the winding old town. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure, cruise ships dock directly at the Muelle de Alfonso XIII in the heart of the city. From this central terminal, travelers can reach the lively Plaza de San Juan de Dios in just a few minutes on foot and immerse themselves immediately in the authentic Andalusian way of life.

The Port of Cádiz impresses with its location directly in the historic city center, providing cruise passengers with easy access to the Muelle de Alfonso XIII terminal. Thanks to the short distances and excellent infrastructure, traveling from the DACH region by both plane and land is extremely convenient.

The nearest airport, Jerez de la Frontera (XRY), is located approximately 45 kilometers away and is served by direct seasonal flights from many German cities. For a wider selection of scheduled connections, Sevilla Airport (SVQ) is an option about 130 kilometers away, from where you can comfortably reach the port by rental car or transfer in around 90 minutes.

Train

The Estación de Cádiz is located right next to the port area and is only a few minutes' walk from the cruise terminal. The station is well-connected to Sevilla and Madrid via the Spanish rail network and regional trains, making arrival by train a relaxed and practical option for individual travelers.

Car & Parking

Via the AP-4 highway, you can reach Cádiz directly from the direction of Sevilla and find secure parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the pier, such as the Canalejas parking garage or the parking lot at Muelle Reina Sofía. Many guests also take the opportunity for a pre-cruise overnight stay in one of the charming hotels in the historic old town to enjoy the Andalusian atmosphere before embarkation.
