Cruise port Tanger

Port information & tips for Tanger

Tangier is Morocco's fascinating gateway, serving as a historic intersection between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, blending African tradition with European flair. The city captivates with its vibrant atmosphere, snow-white facades, and the scent of oriental spices in its winding alleys. Absolute highlights in the immediate vicinity include the magnificent Kasbah with its history-steeped museum, as well as the lively Medina with the bustling Grand Socco. Your cruise ship docks at the modern Tangier Ville Cruise Terminal, which is ideally located directly below the old town. Thanks to this prime connection, you can reach the heart of the city and its most significant sights comfortably within a few minutes' walk, allowing for a relaxed shore excursion.

Tangier is the gateway to Africa and welcomes cruise guests at the modernized Tangier Ville terminal, which directly borders the historic old town. Thanks to the port's central location, arrival and initial explorations in the Moroccan metropolis can be ideally combined.

Airplane

Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport (TNG) is located about 15 kilometers southwest of the port and is regularly served from the DACH region as well as via hubs such as Madrid. The journey to the Tangier Ville terminal takes about 25 to 30 minutes by taxi or private transfer and leads directly into the heart of the city.

Train & Ferry

The modern Tangier Ville railway station is the terminus of the Moroccan high-speed line Al Boraq from Casablanca and is located only about 3 kilometers from the port. In addition, there is a direct ferry connection from Tarifa in Spain directly to the cruise terminal, while guests from the Tangier Med commercial port can reach the ship in about 45 minutes via the A4 highway.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

A stay in one of the hotels near Avenue Mohamed VI or in a traditional riad in the Medina is recommended for a relaxed start to the journey and offers time for a visit to the Kasbah. Many accommodations are located in the immediate vicinity of the port area and allow for a short path to check-in on the day of embarkation.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
