Syracuse is a true jewel on the southeast coast of Sicily and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its thousands of years of history. The city impresses with its unique Mediterranean flair, where ancient Greek ruins harmoniously meet magnificent Baroque buildings and the azure sea forms the perfect backdrop. Absolute highlights include the historic island of Ortigia with its magnificent cathedral and the legendary Arethusa Fountain directly on the shore. Car
For arrival by car, take the A18 motorway towards Catania and then the modern expressway to Siracusa. The "Siracusa" exit leads you directly to the old town and the port area. Providers such as MSC Cruises also offer parking services on Via del Porto Grande, including vehicle storage and direct handover at the embarkation terminal, meaning no shuttle service is necessary. Train
Siracusa railway station is centrally located and well-connected to the Sicilian rail network, with regular connections to Catania, for example. From the station, you can easily reach the cruise terminal by taxi or bus, with the short distance of about two kilometers allowing for a quick connection.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa (CTA), located about 50 to 60 kilometers north of Siracusa. For the transfer, comfortable Interbus scheduled buses are available, which run from the airport directly to Siracusa in about 55 to 70 minutes and are inexpensive. Alternatively, private transfer services and taxis are available, bringing you directly to the port in around 45 to 52 minutes. Due to the journey from the DACH region, an overnight stay in Siracusa on the day before embarkation is recommended to start your cruise relaxed.

On Foot
The picturesque old town island of Ortigia is just a short walk away and can be reached in about 5 to 10 minutes. The path leads across the Ponte Umbertino or Ponte Santa Lucia bridges and offers a wonderful view of the deep blue sea at the same time.
Taxis and Sightseeing Buses
Official taxis are available directly at the pier for trips to the Neapolis Archaeological Park or the surrounding area. In addition, open-top hop-on hop-off buses start here, which take you comfortably to the historic excavation sites and through the modern city center.
Electric Shuttle Buses (Navette)
The small, electrically operated Navette buses of the Siracusa d'Amare line run regularly between the port and the winding alleys of Ortigia. These environmentally friendly vehicles are perfectly adapted to the narrow streets and offer a comfortable connection to the central squares.

The walk from the charming alleys of the old town, Ortigia, back to the port is the easiest option and offers you a beautiful view of the water. Via the Ponte Santa Lucia bridge or Corso Umberto I, you can reach the berth at Banchina San Domenico directly and safely thanks to clear signage.
Taxi
For the return journey from more distant destinations such as the Neapolis Archaeological Park, taxis are available at central stands at Piazza Pancali, right by the Temple of Apollo. Additionally, you can have a taxi called from any major hotel, which guarantees you a punctual and comfortable arrival directly at the port terminal.
Electric Shuttle Buses
The small electric buses of the local public transport network connect the city's most important sights and stop at central points such as Piazza Archimede. Thanks to these regular connections, you can easily get back to the vicinity of the pier while enjoying a short tour through the historic backdrop.
