The nearest international airport is Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), located approximately 52 to 56 kilometers southeast of Slano. This airport is served by various European cities, making it a convenient travel option for guests from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The flight time from the DACH region may make arriving the day before embarkation recommended in order to start your vacation relaxed.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), you can easily reach Slano by taxi or private transfer. A taxi ride takes about 50 to 54 minutes, with costs ranging between €120 and €195. Many local transfer services also offer private shuttles, with prices starting from around €80 to €125 depending on the vehicle type and number of people. Arriving by public bus is also possible, but requires a transfer at the Dubrovnik bus station and takes a total of around 1 hour and 53 minutes to 1 hour and 56 minutes.

For travelers arriving in their own vehicle or using a rental car, Slano is easily accessible via the Croatian coastal road D8 (Jadranska magistrala), which passes through the town. This road connects Slano directly with Dubrovnik and the rest of the coastline. The A1 highway (Dalmatinska autocesta) leads up to the vicinity of Ploče, and an extension towards Dubrovnik is planned. On site, the ACI Marina Slano offers parking facilities for cruise passengers.

Local taxis are available for individual trips into the hinterland and can be used directly in the village. In addition, water taxis can be easily rented at the port to take you to the hidden coves of the surrounding area or to the nearby Elaphite Islands such as Šipan.

The magnificent Knežev dvor is located just a few minutes' walk from the pier right in the heart of Slano and, as the former administrative seat of the Republic of Ragusa, offers fascinating insights into the glorious history of the region. The carefully restored building impresses with its elegant Renaissance architecture and an idyllic courtyard, and also houses a lapidarium worth seeing with valuable archaeological finds. Thanks to its central location, the visit can be perfectly combined with a subsequent stroll along the palm-lined waterfront promenade, where charming cafes offer first-class views of the bay. It is best to visit the palace in the morning to enjoy the cool, quiet atmosphere of the historic rooms and return to the ship relaxed in the early afternoon.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the harbour in the sheltered bay of Slano is particularly straightforward and relaxed thanks to the compact size of the town. You can reach your ship within a short time from all central points while enjoying the Mediterranean atmosphere.

On Foot

Since most sights and beaches are located directly on the flat waterfront promenade, you can easily walk back to the pier or tender pier in just a few minutes. The paths in the town are clear and lead picturesquely along the water, so you can keep your bearings at all times and enjoy the maritime backdrop.

Taxi

For excursions into the surrounding area, you can find taxis at the central square near the tourist information office, as well as at the entrance to the ACI Marina Slano and in front of the Hotel Admiral. The drivers will take you directly to the harbour area via a short route and, thanks to their local knowledge, ensure a stress-free and punctual arrival before departure.

Lokale Busse

If you have visited the region or nearby Dubrovnik, use the Libertas line buses, which stop at the station on the main road above the town. From there, a well-developed and illuminated footpath leads down to the harbour basin in about ten minutes, ensuring you reach your ship safely and on time.
