Arrival at the Mainland
From Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT), you can reach Terrace Bay or Rossport by rental car or arranged shuttle. The drive to Terrace Bay takes about 2 to 2.5 hours via the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17). Limited parking is available in Terrace Bay, often in connection with the boat transfer providers.
Boat Transfer to the Island
The Slate Islands are exclusively accessible by boat or seaplane. Charter boats and shuttle services operate mainly from Terrace Bay or Rossport.
