Getting to Red Rock is straightforward thanks to good road connections. You can reach the community via Highway 628, which branches off only about 8 kilometers from the regional Highways 11 and 17 (part of the Trans-Canada Highway). Red Rock is located about 97 kilometers east of Thunder Bay. Parking for cars and trailers is available at the Red Rock Marina, providing a convenient option for the duration of your trip.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT), located just a short drive of about one hour or 97 kilometers from Red Rock. There are good transfer options from Thunder Bay Airport, including bus connections (e.g., Kasper Transportation or Ontario Northland) to Nipigon, which is in turn 15 kilometers from Red Rock. Taxis can also be used for the onward journey. For guests from the DACH region, a long-haul flight to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and a connecting flight to Thunder Bay (YQT) is recommended.
Train & Bus
Although Red Rock historically had a railway station, travel by public transport today is primarily by bus. Companies such as Ontario Northland offer regular bus connections linking Red Rock (or nearby Nipigon) with Thunder Bay and other locations. From Nipigon, which is about 15 kilometers away, you can easily cover the short remaining distance to Red Rock by taxi or local transport services.
