Wrocław, the "City of a Hundred Bridges," is a cultural jewel in western Poland and a fascinating highlight of any river cruise on the Oder. The Lower Silesian metropolis impresses with its unique flair of magnificent Gothic, Baroque elegance, and extensive waterways that harmoniously shape the historical cityscape. Visitors can easily reach world-famous highlights such as the sacred cathedral island Ostrów Tumski, the lively Rynek market square, and the university with the magnificent Aula Leopoldina. River cruise ships usually dock at the central Przystań Amfiteatralna at Bulwar Dunikowskiego, from where the picturesque old town is just a few minutes' walk away, allowing guests to immediately immerse themselves in the vibrant life of this historic city thanks to the short distances.
Wrocław, located on the Oder, is a charming destination for river cruises and is easily accessible from the DACH region thanks to its good transport links. The moorings for river cruises are often centrally located in the city, for example near the Market Square or Sand Island.
Car
Wrocław is excellently connected to the road network via the A4 and A8 motorways as well as the S3, S5, and S8 expressways, allowing for a comfortable journey. Although parking in the city center can be scarce and expensive, it is recommended to pre-book a private underground parking space. Such parking facilities, for example at Altstadtboulevard (Wszystkich Świętych 23) within short walking distance of the Market Square, offer secure long-term parking from approximately 48 to 60 PLN per day. Hotels in the city center also often offer their own parking spaces.
Train
Wrocław Główny main station is a major railway hub in Poland and connects Wrocław with numerous national and international cities. From the main station, you can easily reach the river cruise moorings in the city center thanks to short distances. A taxi ride takes about 5 minutes; alternatively, you can reach the central Old Town by public buses and trams or with a relaxed walk in about 20 minutes.
Airplane
Wrocław Nicolaus Copernicus Airport (WRO) is located about 10 to 13 kilometers west of the city center and features a modern terminal. A taxi ride to the city center takes approximately 17 to 20 minutes and costs between 45 and 60 PLN. Additionally, bus line 106 runs every 20 minutes from the airport to "pl. Orląt Lwowskich" near the main station, with a travel time of around 31 to 32 minutes. Especially for arrivals from the DACH region with longer flights, an overnight stay in one of the centrally located hotels in Wrocław on the day before embarkation is recommended to start your river cruise relaxed.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the shipping company and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
