The VIVA Ruby was originally built in 2002 as the Swiss Ruby and underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2025 for service with VIVA Cruises. The ship can accommodate up to 80 passengers across its three decks.

Atmosphere on board the VIVA Enjoy
On board the VIVA Ruby, you can choose from three different cabin categories.
The outside staterooms with windows are located on the lowest deck. The window is a very comfortable size, allowing plenty of natural light into the stateroom and enabling you to enjoy the scenery. However, the window cannot be opened.
On the deck above are the approx. 13 sqm outside staterooms with French balconies, as well as the spacious suites measuring approx. 18-20 sqm.
All cabins are air-conditioned and feature a television, radio, complimentary minibar, safe and hairdryer. Furthermore, every cabin and suite has its own en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet.

A comprehensive breakfast buffet is available. Multi-course menus are served at lunch and dinner.
Meal times are flexible and there are no fixed seating arrangements, so you are free to choose your favourite spot, whether on your own or with fellow passengers.
Entertainment, sports & wellness
The Panorama Salon with bar is the central meeting place at the bow of the ship. In this cosy lounge, you can watch the passing scenery in the shelter of the weather during the day or play a game of cards. In the evenings, there is live music and a dance floor is available.
You can unwind on the sun loungers on the sun deck and relax in complete peace and quiet. You can cleverly combine further wellness or sports activities with your shore excursions.

The VIVA Ruby is ideal for a peaceful river cruise. The oldest ship in the fleet has been beautifully refurbished and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. For travellers looking for a bit more variety in the cuisine and on-board facilities, we recommend the newer ships in the VIVA Cruises fleet.
