Port information & tips for Malczyce
Maltsch, picturesquely situated on the banks of the Oder in Lower Silesia, welcomes its guests as a charming stop on river cruises through Poland. The town impresses with its idyllic river landscape and the relaxed atmosphere of a historic boatmen's village, which was once an important trading hub. Here, travelers discover architectural treasures such as the neo-Gothic town hall and the imposing Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, while also enjoying relaxing strolls along the green Oder promenade. River cruise ships dock directly at the central Malczyce landing stage, from which the tranquil town center is easily reached in just a few minutes on foot. Thanks to its excellent location on the riverbank, regional sights and the untouched nature of the Oder plain can be explored immediately after docking.
Maltsch (Polish: Malczyce) is a picturesque river port on the Oder in Poland and serves as an attractive starting point for river cruises. Arrival is comfortably possible thanks to the good connections to the metropolis of Wrocław (Breslau).
Car
The journey by car is comfortable via Poland's well-developed road network. From the DACH region, you can reach the port via the A4 motorway in the direction of Wrocław (Breslau). From there, a regional road leads directly to Malczyce. Parking facilities are available in the town, although larger, special "Park & Cruise" offers, as known from sea ports, are usually not found in a smaller river port like Malczyce. Therefore, plan your arrival directly at the ship or inquire with your cruise line about specific parking options.
Train
Malczyce station is excellently connected to local transport and can be reached directly from Wrocław Główny (Wrocław Main Station). Trains of the Koleje Dolnośląskie run regularly, with the journey time taking only about 30 to 40 minutes. From Malczyce station to the river port, it is only a short distance, which you can easily cover with a local taxi or a short walk.
Airplane
The nearest international airport is Wrocław-Copernicus Airport (WRO), which is located around 10 kilometers west of Wrocław city center. There are good connections to Wrocław from DACH airports. From Wrocław airport, you first reach Wrocław Główny main station in about 30 minutes by taxi or shuttle. From there, direct train connections to Malczyce station exist. Due to the international arrival and the required transfers, a pre-cruise overnight stay in one of the charming hotels in Wrocław is recommended for longer flight journeys to start your river cruise relaxed.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your arrival at the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.
