The VIVA One was the first newbuild for VIVA Cruises and entered service in 2022. On board, modern design meets international flair and a cosy atmosphere. There are also a number of features that highlight the theme of sustainability.
For added convenience, the various decks are easily accessible via a lift, with the exception of the sun deck.
A wide-ranging sustainability concept has been implemented on board the VIVA One. The ship is fitted with 68 solar panels installed on both sides of the sun deck. The electricity generated by these panels is used to support the ship’s electrical system, for example to power the bow thruster.
Low energy consumption was also a key consideration in the design of the lighting, pumps, air conditioning, and kitchen and laundry equipment.
At the start of the journey, every passenger receives a reusable VIVA water bottle, which they can refill around the clock at the water stations on board. At the end of the trip, passengers are of course welcome to take the bottle home as a holiday souvenir.
The VIVA One is powered by synthetic GTL diesel, which reduces emissions. Furthermore, the hull shape has been specially designed, which, together with the fuel-saving autopilot, reduces fuel consumption.
All 88 cabins are beautifully and modernly furnished. Guests immediately feel at home here.
Regardless of the cabin category, the standard amenities include a flat-screen TV, a complimentary minibar, a Nespresso® machine, RITUALS® toiletries, a hairdryer and a safe. Furthermore, all cabins are air-conditioned and feature an en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet.
The outer cabins with windows (which cannot be opened) are located on the lowest deck. The upper decks are home to the approx. 16 sqm outer cabins with French balconies, six junior suites and four suites. The elegant suites offer plenty of space at approxi. 24 sqm and even feature a balcony of around 2 sqm.
On VIVA Cruises’ ships, you’ll enjoy an international yet friendly atmosphere, thanks to the small number of passengers and the multilingual staff on board. The bright, modern décor reinforces this impression, making you feel as though you’re staying in a good hotel on land.
Passengers often include couples or solo travellers, who are on average slightly younger than is typical for river cruises.
For VIVA Cruises, culinary experiences are an integral part of a fantastic holiday. That is why great importance is placed on high quality and regional produce on board. As demand for vegan and vegetarian options continues to grow, these are also available.
In the main restaurant, RIVERSIDE, you can start your day with a varied breakfast buffet. Multi-course menus are served here for lunch and dinner.
In the evening, VIVA’s Bistro also opens its doors. As capacity here is somewhat limited, we recommend booking a table in advance.
High tea is served once per cruise in the afternoon. Alongside a variety of teas, you can also enjoy delicious sweet and savoury treats.
Key areas on board include the sun deck and the Panorama Salon with its bar. This is where you’ll often bump into fellow passengers, take in the scenery, or enjoy the evening’s musical programme in the Panorama Lounge.
The Emerald Deck is home to the fitness centre, featuring various cardio machines and weights, as well as the wellness area with a steam room and an infrared sauna. There are also treatment rooms for massages. You can relax in the fresh air in the whirlpool on the sun deck.
For an active time ashore, bicycles can be borrowed free of charge from reception.
The VIVA One is a versatile and modern ship that appeals particularly to younger travellers. The food is of a very high standard and we really like the cosy interior.
