Compass Cara staterooms

The Compass Cara has a total of 75 double occupancy staterooms spread across three decks.

All staterooms measure approximately 14 sqm and feature an en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. Standard amenities also include a television, telephone, safe and air conditioning. The beds can be arranged as twin beds or pushed together to form a double bed, as preferred.

The outside staterooms on the main deck all have a window, which cannot be opened due to the stateroom’s location.

There are further outside staterooms on the middle deck. These are fitted with a large panoramic window. The window can be opened.

The staterooms with French balconies are all located on the upper deck. The floor-to-ceiling windows can, of course, be opened.

Compass Cara restaurants, bars & lounges

On board the Compass Cara, there is a restaurant and two bars and lounges.

Meals in the restaurant are included in the price of the trip. A varied breakfast buffet is served during the restaurant’s regular opening hours in the morning. If you’re an early riser, you can also take advantage of the early bird breakfast. At lunchtime and in the evening, you can look forward to varied, multi-course menus.

For those feeling peckish between meals, there is coffee and cake in the afternoon, as well as a midnight snack late in the evening.

Compass Cara Entertainment, sport & wellness

For guests’ daily entertainment, there is live music in the Panorama Salon both in the afternoon and in the evening.

To relax and unwind, you can visit the wellness area, which features a sauna and a hot tub. A range of soothing massages are also available (at an additional cost). The pool on the sun deck is quite large for a river cruise ship and offers a magnificent panoramic view.

Compass Cara Children

Children are generally very welcome on board the Compass Cara. There are no dedicated children’s areas on this river cruise ship.

With regard to the accommodation in the staterooms, please note that each stateroom can accommodate a maximum of two passengers and, for safety reasons, children may not be accommodated on their own.

Compass Kreuzfahrten offers a wide range of shore excursions, including bus tours, city walks and other sightseeing trips.

The excursions are either led by a German-speaking tour guide or a multilingual audio guide system is provided.

Shore excursions are generally booked on board. For some excursions, it is possible to reserve a place before the trip begins.

You’re always in safe hands with Compass Cruises’ excursions, because in the event of a delay, the ship will wait for you or you’ll be taken to the next port on the itinerary at Compass Cruises’ expense.

If you’re going on your own exploration tours, you should return on board at least half an hour before the ship sets sail.

Our summary

The Compass Cara is a small but charming river cruise ship that offers everything you need for a wonderful break. Whilst the variety of facilities is limited due to the ship’s size, you’ll enjoy the pleasant, friendly atmosphere.
