Overall impression of your cruise
- How would you describe your cruise with the ship MSC Fantasia in one sentence?
- We enjoyed our cruise on the Fantasia however, we considered the ship to be too big and not very user friendly to navigate around the decks. The Zanzibar / Africana buffet was particularly confusing, always busy and sometimes like a zoo! The lifts also posed little annoyances, with Yacht Club passengers having priority thus the lift would often zoom past your deck and you may be left waiting ages for it to call again. That said the ship was spotless, great pools, lovely restaurants and food and the cabin steward did an exemplary job.
Questions about the MSC Fantasia
- How did you like your cabin number 5015?
- Your comment on cabin 5015:
- The cabin was quite spacious and we had plenty room for the baby's cot. The bathroom was spotless. There was ample wardrobe space with plenty of shelves and drawers for storage. Suitcases fitted neatly under the bed. Beds were very comfortable. The carpet and bed spread were of dark shades which made the room a little drab.

- Room service was free at breakfast time where a continental breakfast was served of bread rolls, brioche, butter perserves, cereals etc. The Buffet was hectic in the morning. Breakfast in the red velvet restaurant was excellent and dinner in the Oro del Chercho was very good and service was swift. We ate in the pay as you eat Tex Mex restaurant on one night and it was very tasty. We had dinner on one night at the Buffet where we had burger and chips.
Entertainment catered for the different languages on board. We attended the show in the L'Avanguardia Theatre each night which were interpretative dance, acrobatic and magic in nature. Shows lasted 30 - 45 mins. The first show was at 7.30PM for late dinner guests and 9.30 for first dinner seating guests. We travelled with a 6 month old child who was 100% breast fed so we did not have to have food prepared or bottles heated but she was a hit with the staff. The photographer took great photos of her!

- Comments about MSC Cruises
- Embarkation was a breeze - we were in our cabin within 10 minutes of arriving at the port. Drinks were expensive and water had to be purchased as was tea and coffee at dinner time. A free beverage station was available on the deck 14 in the Zanzibar buffet. We did our own excursions in port but an average 4 hour excursions cost approximately €50.
