Hellesylt is directly connected to the Norwegian trunk road network and the important north-south connection E39 via the scenic Rv60 highway. A visit can be perfectly combined with a detour to the Hellesyltfossen right next to it, where the thundering water spectacularly plunges between two bridges into the fjord. Thanks to the central location, you will also find inviting cafés and small shops for authentic Norwegian handicrafts and souvenirs in the immediate vicinity. It is best to start your tour in the morning to explore the gallery in peace before the larger crowds from the fjord ferries arrive, and return to the ship relaxed at least sixty minutes before departure.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the port in Hellesylt is very relaxed thanks to the manageable size of the village and can be easily planned at any time.

On Foot

From the famous Hellesyltfossen waterfall or the Peer Gynt Galleri in the village center, you can easily walk back to the pier in just a few minutes. The path is level and leads directly along the fjord shore, so you always have your ship in sight and can reach the berth without any detours.

Taxi and local transport

Taxis can be requested as needed via the tourist information office in the village center or at the ferry terminal and will bring you safely back from more distant viewpoints. In addition, regional buses on line 250 stop at the central Hellesylt Hub station, from where it is only a short walk directly to the gangway.

Ferry from Geiranger

If you have used the day for an excursion to Geiranger, the panorama ferry docks directly in the harbor basin next to the cruise pier.
