Seascanner Rail&Fly ticket

The Seascanner Rail&Fly ticket can only be used in conjunction with an international flight to/from a German airport or to/from Salzburg and Basel (for flights to/from Amsterdam, Zurich, Brussels and Vienna, this service is available on request for an additional charge). It applies to DB (Deutsche Bahn) routes from all German stations on all scheduled regular trains (including ICE, IC and EC). Unfortunately, a BahnCard discount cannot be granted. Children (up to and including 14 years of age) travel free of charge when accompanied by their parents/grandparents. The Rail&Fly can be used on the day before the outbound flight and on the day after the return flight.

You will receive a voucher code per person and route after the booking of the Seascanner Rail&Fly ticket. The voucher codes can be reedemed on kreuzfahrtberater.bahnanreise.de by selecting the desired connection from those displayed. You will then receive the digital ticket as a PDF download and/or by e-mail. Nevertheless, you are flexible in your use of the trains (provided you keep the selected route and travel day). The ship Nieuw Statendam

The ship, which was completed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, was handed over to Holland America Line at the end of 2018. The M/S Nieuw Statendam is the second ship of the new Pinnacle ship class and thus the sister ship of the Koningsdam, which started its premiere season in April 2016. Like the Koningsdam, the Nieuw Statendam offers sufficient space and is equipped with the amenities of the Pinnacle class.

Staterooms of Nieuw Statendam

The modern interior design was designed by the architects Adam D. Tihany and Bjørn Storbraaten and will delight you with everything the Pinnacle class represents: spacious, light-flooded areas meet dramatic looks and opulent amenities. The elegant lines reflect the Dutch maritime tradition of the past more than 140 years. You have the choice between the cabin categories indoor, sea view and veranda, which are between 14 and 39 m² in size depending on the category. Even with the suites you can choose between different categories. The offer ranges from the smaller Vista Suites to the Pinnacle Suites with a size of up to 126 m².

Atmosphere on board the Nieuw Statendam

The M/S Nieuw Statendam is more of a classic cruise ship. During the day there is a wide range of leisure activities; for example, wine tasting, computer courses or lectures on the visited destinations (currently for a fee). On board mainly guests of middle and upper age travel. During the holidays also families like to travel with Holland America Line. There are childcare services for children and adolescents, but altogether there are less children on board as on other cruise lines. On two evenings a week, festive clothing is recommended. For guests who like it even more casual, there are also alternative opportunities on these two evenings, without formal attire.

Nieuw Statendam restaurants

The excellent cuisine is certainly one of the highlights of any trip with Holland America Line. A top-class team of six world-class chefs is constantly developing new, inspiring and distinctive dining options for the cruise lines’s fleet. Also on the M/S Nieuw Statendam a variety of exceptional dining options will be offered and the popular restaurant classics get some new accents. An integrated sushi bar for up to seven people complements the range in the pan-Asian specialty restaurant Tamarind, the popular Lido buffet restaurant is a modern food court, and the Main Dining Room is the centerpiece of a two-storey wine tower. Other new items on board are the Sel de Mer (French brasserie) and a Grand Dutch Café.

Guests traveling with Holland America Line will not search for the latest high-tech amusement park attractions or a constant party atmosphere. Nevertheless, there is no reason for boredom on board. Music fans will be pampered with high-quality performances at the Lincoln Stage Center, the popular BB King's Blues Club or rock & pop hits on Billboard on Board. Do you like to dance classically? Then you will love the stylish Queen's Lounge. There will be big shows on the World Stage and everyone will find their personal favorite bar or lounge for the evening finale.

The Greenhouse Spa & Salon offers relaxation in perfection. More active guests can enjoy the modern fitness center, that offers all the amenities you will expect.
