The cruise line Holland America Line has been offering international cruises at a very good level for more than 150 years. On the German market, Holland America Line enjoys strong growing popularity, but is still more of an insider tip among the cruise lines.

Holland America Line has set itself the goal of treating the environment responsibly. This is reflected, among other things, in the fact that the entire fleet of the shipping company is shore power capable. Disposable products on board are reduced or recycled as far as possible.

Holland America Line is also the first cruise line in the world to receive both MSC and ASC certification for sustainable seafood. This award emphasises its commitment to environmental protection and responsible sourcing. Guests can now enjoy high-quality seafood on board that is sourced under strict guidelines, contributing to a sustainable future for the oceans.

The modern interior design was designed by the architects Adam D. Tihany and Bjørn Storbraaten and will delight you with everything the Pinnacle class represents: spacious, light-flooded areas meet dramatic looks and opulent amenities. The elegant lines reflect the Dutch maritime tradition of the past more than 140 years. You have the choice between indoor, sea view and veranda staterooms, which are between 14 and 39 sqm in size depending on the category. Even with the suites you can choose between different categories. The offer ranges from the smaller Vista Suites to the Pinnacle Suites with a size of up to 126 sqm.

During the day there is a wide range of leisure activities, for example wine tastings, computer courses or lectures on the destinations visited are offered (partly for a fee). In the evenings, there is a lot of live music. On the MusicWalk on the Plaza Deck, you can choose between different music performances. Do you like classical music? Then the Lincoln Center Stage is just right for you. B.B. King's Blues Club will present you with the sound of Memphis R&B, while you can enjoy piano sounds in the Billboard Onboard. You want to really let it rip? Then don't miss the Rolling Stone Rock Room.

Guests travelling on board are mainly middle-aged and upscale. During the holiday periods, however, families also come on board. There are childcare facilities for children and teenagers (in English) but overall there are fewer children on board. Two evenings a week, more festive attire is recommended. However, this is not a "must". There are also alternatives for guests who do not wish to dress formally.

The excellent cuisine is certainly one of the highlights of any voyage with Holland America Line. In the à la carte main restaurant The Dining Room as well as in the buffet restaurant breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered and you can always decide spontaneously whether you prefer to be served or to eat at the buffet.

On board the Rotterdam you will be spoilt with great speciality restaurants. You can dine in these restaurants for a fee. The Pinnacle Grill is an excellent steakhouse and at Rudi's Sel de Mer you can enjoy modern interpretations of classic French cuisine. Do you like Asian cuisine? Then enjoy the meals at Tamarind. Alternatively, you can try sushi at Nami Suhi. 

During the day guests may for example enjoy wine-tastings, computer or painting courses, poker tournaments or lectures on the next destinations. In the evening shows and live music provide diversion. You can find these for example on the Music Walk with the Lincoln Stage Center, the famous BB King Blues Club or the Billboard on Board. On the other hand, you will always be able to find quiet places if you prefer a calmer evening.

You enjoy doing sports? Go swimming in an outdoor pool that can be turned into an indoor pool with a moveable glass roof. Workout in the gym, jogging on the deck and aerobic or pilates courses are also interesting alternatives. For a more relaxing day guests may enjoy the elegant "Greenhouse Spa".

A voyage with the new Rotterdam offers you a lot of stylish comfort and luxury through attentive service, very good food and an altogether very comfortable ship. Holland America Line can still be described as an "insider tip" on the German market. Accordingly, there are usually only about 10 to 50 German-speaking guests on board. On all Holland America Line ships you will find at least one German-speaking contact person (reception). In addition, you will also receive German menus on board and, on request, a German daily programme (from 20 German-speaking guests on board) in your cabin. A good knowledge of English is recommended. Holland America's ships offer a very good price/performance ratio and are particularly popular with repeat cruisers who appreciate and enjoy the high standard.
