The “Save the Waves” environmental protection program exist since 1992 and aims to protect the underwater world and improve waste management, for example by reducing waste and by recycling. Energy efficiency, modern technologies and innovations are part of the “Destination Net Zero” vision, which aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

The existing “Save the Waves” program is complemented by “Go Green”: The initiative allows guests to decide for a reduced housekeeping service and thus save energy and resources.

The Celebrity Xcel is a methanol-capable ship. The new engine will offer the option of using three types of fuel, including methanol.

You can enjoy a unique view of the sea not only on the beautiful outdoor decks, but also in the private area. The number of staterooms with Infinite Veranda for solo travelers  has been doubled and offers a total of around 17 sqm of space. The interior staterooms start at around 17 sqm, while the oceanview staterooms are around 18.5-22.5 sqm. The balcony staterooms and the staterooms with infinite veranda impress with a total size of up to 22.5 sqm (including approx. 3.5-8 sqm balcony or infinite veranda). In the Concierge Class staterooms with approx. 22.5 sqm (including approx. 4 sqm Infinite Veranda) you can benefit from various additional amenities, such as concierge service. In the Aqua Class staterooms (approx. 22.5 sqm, approx. 4 sqm Infinite Veranda) the focus is on the topic wellness - for example, yoga mats are available in the stateroom. As a guest in the exclusive area "The Retreat" you have the choice between luxurious suites, including the two-story Edge Villa with a total size of approx. 68.5 sqm or the Iconic Suite, which is located above the bridge and convinces with a size of approx. 175 sqm. In the suites you also benefit from butler service and other amenities.

The culinary offerings on board include numerous restaurants, cafés, lounges and bars, where every guest will find something to suit them. You can expect a culinary variety ranging from traditional to modern dishes.

The casual dining concept ‘Spice’, for example, offers delicious snacks with breathtaking views of the sea. At ‘Mosaic’, you can enjoy menus inspired by the destinations or learn to cook local dishes yourself at the ‘Chef's Studio’ cookery school. At ‘The Bazaar’, you can sample local food and drinks in keeping with the destination or take part in rum and chocolate tastings or hot sauce tastings, for example. A highlight is the lively ‘Bora’ restaurant: Mediterranean delicacies and seafood are served here in the open air and with a panoramic view of the sea. During the day, it offers a stylish brunch with cocktails and live music, while in the evening, dishes are presented in a cosy atmosphere.

On board the Celebrity Xcel, you can expect the most extensive entertainment programme of the entire fleet to date. It includes three new theatre shows and the largest theatre in the fleet, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as kinetic lighting, lasers and a large LED wall for a particularly intense and impressive experience.

In ‘The Club’, two new interactive shows take guests back in time, while in ‘The Annex’ you can hire private gaming and party rooms to organise a karaoke evening, for example. During the numerous shore excursions, you have the opportunity to explore and get to know the culture and landscape of a region better, e.g. during market visits (accompanied by a Celebrity chef), a hike in the mountains or during sightseeing in the cities.
