Port information & tips for Nice

Nice is the glamorous pearl of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes travelers with a perfect symbiosis of stately elegance and vibrant Provençal joie de vivre. The city impresses with its picturesque location on the azure-blue Baie des Anges and offers a breathtaking backdrop thanks to the pastel-colored facades of the old town. In the immediate vicinity of the harbor, the Colline du Château viewpoint with its panoramic views, the famous flower market at Cours Saleya, and the charming alleys of Vieux Nice invite you on tours of discovery. Cruise ships dock at the historic Port Lympia at Quai du Commerce, from where passengers can easily reach the city center in about ten minutes on foot and also use the direct connection of tram line 2 for a comfortable journey.

The Port of Nice, known as Port Lympia, impresses with its picturesque location right in the heart of the city and is easily accessible for travelers from the DACH region thanks to its first-class infrastructure. The terminals of the Gare Maritime are nestled between the historic Old Town and Mont Boron, allowing guests to combine their embarkation directly with the Mediterranean flair of the Côte d'Azur.

Airplane

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) is the central gateway to the region and is served by direct flights from numerous airports in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. From Terminals 1 and 2, tram line 2 (Ligne 2) offers a particularly convenient and direct connection, taking passengers to the final stop, Port Lympia, in about 30 minutes without changing. Alternatively, you can reach the port by taxi or a private transfer service in around 20 minutes via the famous Promenade des Anglais.

Train

The main station, Nice-Ville, is an important hub for TGV high-speed trains as well as regional connections from Italy and Marseille. From the station, you can reach the port quickly and easily by either taking a taxi for the approximately ten-minute ride or by taking tram line 1 to the Garibaldi station, from where the port is only a few minutes' walk away. Additionally, tram line 2 connects the nearby Jean Médecin stop directly with the port terminal.

Car

For individual arrival by car, use the A8 motorway (La Provençale) and take exit 50 towards Nice-Centre or exit 55 Nice-Est to reach the quays directly. Guarded car parks such as Parking Port Lympia are available directly at Port Lympia; furthermore, specialized Park & Cruise providers offer a comfortable valet service, where the vehicle is collected directly at the terminal and kept secure for the duration of the cruise.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times may change at short notice.
