Port information & tips for Marseilles

Marseille is the vibrant gateway to Provence and France's oldest city, blending Mediterranean charm with urban dynamism. The city captivates with its maritime atmosphere and, thanks to its location on the Mediterranean, offers breathtaking views of the azure coast as well as historic grand buildings. Highlights such as the majestic Basilika Notre-Dame de la Garde, the charming old town district of Le Panier, and the impressive MuCEM museum are wonderful to explore. Cruise ships dock at the modern Marseille Provence Cruise Center (MPCC) at Môle d'Arenc. From this terminal, located about eight kilometers away, guests can reach the picturesque Vieux Port in the lively heart of the city in just about fifteen minutes thanks to comfortable shuttle buses or taxis.

Marseille is the most important cruise port in France and, with the modern Marseille Provence Cruise Center (MPCC) at Môle Léon Gourret, offers an excellent infrastructure for travelers from the DACH region. The extensive terminals are located about ten kilometers north of the city center and are easily accessible thanks to the direct connection to the long-distance road network and the international airport.

Car

Via the A7 and A55 motorways, you can reach the port area directly, with Exit 5 (Port Gate 4) leading you immediately to the cruise center. Guarded long-term parking spaces are available at the terminal in the official Parking Croisières, and thanks to the clear signage, you will easily find your way to the berths at Môle Léon Gourret.

Train

The central station Marseille-Saint-Charles is an important hub for TGV high-speed trains and enables a relaxed arrival from Switzerland or via Paris. From there, you can reach the terminal comfortably by taxi in around 20 minutes; additionally, many cruise lines offer direct shuttle buses for transfer to the ship on embarkation days.

Airplane

The international Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) is located about 25 kilometers from the port and is served directly from numerous cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The onward journey to the cruise terminal is quick by taxi or via organized transfers from the cruise lines, with the travel time via the motorway taking about 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.
