Lorient is the maritime gateway to Brittany and delights visitors with a fascinating blend of modern seafaring history and Breton authenticity. Located at the mouth of the Scorff and the Blavet, the city impresses with its maritime flair and its proximity to the wild Atlantic coast. Absolute highlights in the immediate vicinity include the historic Keroman submarine base, the Flore-S645 submarine, and the interactive sailing museum Cité de la Voile Éric Tabarly. Cruise ships dock at the Quai de Kergroise, which is advantageously located and offers easy access to the welcoming city center and regional attractions thanks to short shuttle bus connections or a walk of about twenty minutes.

Car
Traveling to Lorient by car is easy thanks to well-developed expressways, which are toll-free in Brittany. From the direction of Rennes or Nantes, you can reach Lorient easily via these dual-carriageway connections. For parking at the port, there are suitable parking spaces at the Keroman Terminal itself. In addition, paid parking spaces are available at "Parking de l'embarcadère" (also known as Gare Maritime P3), located about 200 meters from the ferry terminal, which can also be used for longer periods and feature license plate recognition. In the city center, look for blue zones for free parking with a parking disc or use paid parking garages such as Place d'Armes or Nayel.
Train
Lorient train station is a central hub and excellently connected to the French rail network. Thanks to TGV connections, you can travel directly from Paris Montparnasse station to Lorient in only about three hours, for example. There are good transfer options from the station to the city center or the cruise terminal. Local bus lines, such as line 10, reach the port in about 18 minutes. Alternatively, taxis are available directly at the station to take you comfortably to the terminal.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Lorient Lann-Bihoué (LRT), also known as Aéroport de Lorient-Bretagne-Sud, located only about five to eight kilometers west of Lorient city center. The travel time from the airport to the cruise terminal is approximately 15 to 20 minutes by car or taxi. For transfers into the city, bus line 10 of the CTRL network offers an affordable option to the "Gare d'Echanges" (the city's main transport hub) in about 20-25 minutes. Taxis are also available, with costs to the city center potentially around €50. For travelers from the DACH region likely arriving via larger airports such as Paris, Nantes, or Rennes, an overnight stay in Lorient the day before is recommended due to the longer travel times, ensuring a relaxed start to the cruise.
Check-in & Embarkation
