Port information & tips for Zeebrugge

Zeebrugge is the maritime gateway to picturesque Flanders and a major deep-water port on the Belgian North Sea coast. The extensive port facility impresses with its modern infrastructure and the maritime flair of an active global port, while the fine sandy beach and cozy marina also invite you to relax. In the immediate vicinity, the maritime theme park Seafront and the wide beach promenade with its charming cafés beckon for initial exploration. At the same time, the famous UNESCO World Heritage site of Bruges is easily accessible thanks to excellent transport links. Cruise ships dock at the modern terminal at Zweedse Kaai, from where comfortable shuttle services or the train connection lead directly to the historic city center in just about twenty minutes.

The Port of Zeebrugge is Belgium's most important cruise gateway and offers first-class accessibility thanks to its modern infrastructure at Zweedse Kaai in the outer harbor. Its direct location on the North Sea allows ships to enter easily and provides guests with a quick transition from land to ship.

Car

Via the A10 (E40) motorways from the direction of Brussels as well as the A11, you can reach the port area directly and simply follow the signs towards Zeebrugge-Dorp or Vorhaven. In the immediate vicinity of the terminal at Zweedse Kaai, you will find guarded parking spaces for long-term parkers as well as specialized Park & Cruise providers who guarantee a comfortable shuttle service directly to the ship.

Train

Brugge station is the central arrival point for international travelers from the DACH region and offers excellent ICE and Thalys connections via Brussels-South. From Brugge station, you can easily reach the cruise terminal, located about 15 kilometers away, using the cruise lines' official shuttle buses or a taxi for a relaxed travel time of around 20 minutes.

Airplane

Brussels Airport (BRU) serves as the primary hub and is served several times daily from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich. From there, you can reach Brugge by train in about 90 minutes or use an organized transfer service that will take you directly to the terminal across the approximately 100-kilometer route in about 75 minutes of travel time.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
