Thanks to the comfortable tender boats, travelers reach the pier near the village or the beach in a very short time and find themselves immediately in the heart of this paradisiacal destination.
Travel to the remote cruise port of Nabukeru Yasawa in the Fiji Islands is primarily via the main island of Viti Levu and requires a combination of flight and subsequent sea or air transfers. As Nabukeru is a village on Yasawa Island, there are no direct road or rail connections; cruise ships usually anchor offshore, and guests are brought ashore by tender boat.
Airplane
The most important international arrival point for travelers from the DACH region is Nadi International Airport (NAN) on Fiji's main island, Viti Levu. Direct flights from Europe are rare, which is why one or two stopovers, for example in Asia, Australia, or New Zealand, are usually necessary. The Yasawa Islands are located about 103 kilometers northwest of Nadi.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Nadi International Airport (NAN), you can easily reach Port Denarau, the main departure point for ferries to the Yasawa Islands, by taxi or shuttle bus. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. From Port Denarau, high-speed catamarans such as the "Yasawa Flyer" operate daily to the Yasawa Islands, with travel times ranging between 3.5 and 5 hours depending on the destination. Alternatively, the "Tavewa Seabus" ferry from Lautoka Wharf reaches the Yasawas in less than 3 hours. For a particularly fast and scenic arrival, seaplanes or helicopters are also available from Nadi or Denarau, taking you directly to your resort or near Nabukeru in about 30 minutes.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight times and ferry or transfer schedules that do not always align, we strongly recommend staying overnight in a pre-cruise hotel in the Nadi or Denarau area. Many hotels in these areas offer convenient shuttle services to Port Denarau, allowing for a relaxed start to your Fiji adventure and ensuring a smooth connection to your cruise.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually about one hour before the scheduled departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
