Progreso is the fascinating gateway to the world of the Maya on the Mexican Yucatán Peninsula and welcomes travelers with authentic charm. Cruise ships dock at the Terminal de Cruceros de Progreso, which is located at the end of one of the longest piers in the world. A closer alternative is Mérida International Airport (MID), located just 45 kilometers away and accessible via regular connections through Mexico City.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Mérida Airport, you can reach the terminal building in Progreso in about 45 to 60 minutes via the well-maintained Federal Highway 261. Many cruise lines offer organized shuttle services for this route; additionally, air-conditioned taxis and private transfer providers are available on-site for a comfortable ride to the pier.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight time from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended.
