Returning to the ship

Huatulco, a stunning eco-tourism destination on Mexico's Pacific coast, attracts cruise passengers with its nine picturesque bays and pristine beaches. The cruise terminal is centrally located in Santa Cruz Bay, where ships dock directly and no tendering is required. For guests from the DACH region, arrival is usually a Fly & Cruise journey.

Airplane

Bahías de Huatulco International Airport (HUX) is the nearest airport and is located approximately 20 to 25 kilometers from the cruise terminal. Although there are no direct long-haul flights from the DACH region, the airport is well-connected to Mexican hubs like Mexico City and offers connections to international destinations, often with a transfer in the USA or Canada. Arriving at least one day before embarkation is recommended due to the long flight time.

Transfer & Shuttle

The journey from the airport (HUX) to the cruise terminal or the surrounding hotels in La Crucecita and Santa Cruz takes about 20 to 30 minutes by taxi or a pre-booked shuttle. Taxis are available directly at the terminal, and prices should be agreed upon before the start of the journey. For a comfortable start, private transfers or shared shuttles are also available to bring you conveniently from the airport to your accommodation.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Given the long journey from Europe, staying overnight in a pre-cruise hotel in Huatulco is highly recommended to start your cruise relaxed. You will find hotels both near the Santa Cruz terminal and in the charming main town of La Crucecita. Many accommodations are just a few minutes' walk or a short taxi ride from the port, ideal for a relaxing start.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination area—is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
