Returning to the ship
Leticia, the unique gateway to the Colombian Amazon, is only accessible by plane or by water. As the starting point for unforgettable river cruises in the tri-border region of Colombia, Brazil, and Peru, an overnight stay before embarkation is recommended due to international travel, allowing you to start your adventure relaxed.
Airplane
Travel to the Leticia cruise port is primarily via Alfredo Vásquez Cobo International Airport (LET). From the DACH region, you can reach Leticia with comfortable connections, usually via Bogotá (BOG). The flight time from Bogotá to Leticia is approximately two hours.
Transfer & Shuttle
Leticia Airport (LET) is very conveniently located, only about two kilometers from the city center. Taxis or local mototaxis are available for transfers to your hotel or directly to the river pier, bringing you comfortably to your destination in just about 10 to 15 minutes. Many accommodations also offer their own pickup services.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Arriving the day before your river cruise is highly recommended to acclimatize to the tropical climate and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Leticia. The city offers a good selection of hotels and hostels, many in central locations with easy access to the river, the starting point for your Amazon cruise.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that your travel documents will usually provide you with a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is usually about one hour before the scheduled departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.
