Natal in Brazil is a charming cruise port that is usually easily reached by plane for guests from the DACH region. The port is centrally located in the city, directly at the mouth of the Rio Potengi, which allows for a straightforward journey to the ship.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Greater Natal International Airport (NAT), also known as Rio Grande do Norte/São Gonçalo do Amarante–Governador Aluízio Alves International Airport. It is located around 18 to 25 kilometers from Natal city center and thus also from the cruise terminal. Flights from the DACH region usually require a layover, mostly at a major Brazilian or European hub, before continuing to Natal.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Greater Natal International Airport (NAT), you can easily reach the cruise terminal and your hotel in Natal by taxi in about 22 minutes, with costs between R$70 and R$85 (approx. 12 to 15 euros). In addition, private shuttle services are available to take you to your destination in around 30 minutes. Many cruise lines also offer their own transfers from the airport to the ship, guaranteeing a stress-free onward journey.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long journey from the DACH region, it is recommended to arrive in Natal at least one day before embarkation. A pre-cruise hotel in the city center allows you to start your cruise refreshed and at the same time explore the charming coastal city at your leisure before your ship sets sail.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the journey: For shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
