As the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia is the central starting point for expeditions to Antarctica and welcomes guests right in the heart of the city at the Muelle Turístico. Thanks to the port's central location on the Beagle Channel, both the city center and the main transport links can be reached in just a few minutes.
Airplane
Arrival from the DACH region is via Ushuaia Malvinas Argentinas International Airport (USH), located about five kilometers from the city center. Travelers typically use connections via Buenos Aires (EZE or AEP), from where domestic flights reach the port city in around three and a half hours, providing direct access to the "End of the World."
Transfer & Shuttle
From the airport, you can easily reach the cruise terminal in about 10 to 15 minutes by taxi or private transfer. Many cruise lines also offer coordinated charter transfers that accompany passengers directly from the tarmac or from central meeting points to the ship, ensuring a smooth embarkation process.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the extreme distance and the changeable weather conditions in Tierra del Fuego, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended. A stay in a hotel near the central Maipú Street also offers the perfect opportunity to explore the Tierra del Fuego National Park at the end of Ruta Nacional 3 and to start your expedition adventure completely relaxed.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
