Abu Simbel Airport (ABS) is located only about 4 kilometers from the city center and the temple complexes, making it ideal for a quick onward journey. Egyptian airlines such as EgyptAir offer regular domestic flights, often with a flight time of just 45 minutes from Aswan, which pleasantly shortens the long road journey. Booking connecting flights in good time is recommended to start your Lake Nasser adventure in a relaxed manner.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Abu Simbel Airport (ABS), you can reach your ship or hotel comfortably in less than 10 minutes by taxi or via organized hotel transfers thanks to the short distance. For guests landing in Aswan or planning a pre-stay there, a transfer by car or air-conditioned coach to Abu Simbel is the standard option. The journey on well-maintained roads through the impressive desert landscape takes about 3.5 to 4 hours for the approximately 280 to 285-kilometer route.
