Port information & tips for Ulvik
Ulvik is a picturesque jewel at the end of the branched Hardangerfjord and is considered one of Norway's most idyllic cruise ports. The community impresses with its spectacular location between snow-capped peaks and turquoise waters, while the gentle hills filled with blooming orchards radiate a unique flair. Cultural highlights include the historic Ulvik Kyrkje, the modern Olav H. Hauge-senteret, and the famous Hardanger Saft- og Siderfabrikk, which offers delicious insights into regional craftsmanship. Cruise ships often use tender boats or dock directly at the Ulvik Dampskipskai, which is located right in the charming town center and, thanks to its central location, represents an ideal starting point for relaxed discovery tours on foot.
Ulvik in the Hardangerfjord is a picturesque village and a popular destination for cruise ships, where ships anchor in the fjord and guests are comfortably brought by tender boat to the central pier at the Brakanes Hotel. Although it is mostly a port of call, Ulvik is well-connected for individual arrivals.

Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
