Torghatten on the island of Torget is a fascinating natural wonder on the Norwegian Helgeland coast and is world-famous for its legendary mountain with its distinctive rock hole. The untouched landscape and the fresh sea breeze create a mystical atmosphere that delights hikers and nature lovers alike. Absolute highlights include the climb to the legendary Torghatten-Hullet, the spectacular panoramic view over the skerries, and the informative visitor center at the foot of the mountain. The idyllic cruise port of Torghatten (Torget) is primarily reached via the charming coastal town of Brønnøysund. Ships dock directly at the central town pier, providing easy access to local attractions.

Airplane

The nearest airport is Brønnøysund Airport (BNN), located just a few minutes from the town center and the harbor. Widerøe offers regular flights connecting Brønnøysund with major Norwegian cities such as Oslo, Trondheim, and Bergen. After landing, you can easily reach the harbor by taxi in about 3 minutes or use the public buses, whose schedules are coordinated with flight times. A car rental station is located directly in the terminal for maximum flexibility.

Car

Brønnøysund is situated on the picturesque coastal road Fv17, also known as the Helgeland Norwegian Scenic Route. Arriving by car is pleasant thanks to well-maintained roads and offers breathtaking views. From Mosjøen, you can reach Brønnøysund in about 2.5 hours (approx. 158 km). For long-term parking, hotels such as the Thon Hotel Brønnøysund and the Corner Hotell offer free parking spaces for their guests. A large parking lot is also available at the foot of Torghatten.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

For a relaxed embarkation, especially after long journeys from the DACH region, an overnight stay in Brønnøysund on the previous day is highly recommended. The town offers charming hotels such as the Thon Hotel Brønnøysund or the Corner Hotell, which often provide a good starting point for exploration and free parking. This way, you start your cruise adventure along the Norwegian coast well-rested.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and consider that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
