Returning to the ship
Florø, Norway's westernmost town, welcomes cruise guests with its picturesque coastal landscape and a centrally located port that allows for convenient arrival and quick access to the town center. The Fugleskjærskaia cruise terminal is located in the immediate vicinity of the town center, allowing you to enjoy the charming atmosphere of Florø directly after disembarkation.
Airplane
The fastest way to reach Florø is via the local Florø Airport (FRO), which is located only about 2 to 3 kilometers from the town center and the port. There are regular direct flights with Widerøe from the international hubs of Oslo (OSL) and Bergen (BGO). From Florø Airport, you can easily reach the Florø Terminal in about 8 to 10 minutes using bus line 251, or you can take a taxi for a travel time of just 3 to 4 minutes. For guests from the DACH region planning a longer journey, a pre-cruise overnight stay in Florø is recommended, as many hotels offer free parking and enable a relaxed embarkation.
Car
Florø is connected to the mainland via the Norwegian National Road 5 (Rv5), allowing for a flexible arrival by private car or rental car. Directly at the port, there are paid parking spaces for short-term and long-term parking. In addition, Florø Bil & Havneservice in Strandavegen, for example, offers special parking spaces with electricity and water connections, which also have sanitary facilities within walking distance. Alternatively, some hotels in Florø, such as the Scandic Victoria Floro, provide free parking for their guests, ideal for a relaxed arrival the day before your cruise.
Ferry
For a particularly scenic arrival from Bergen, the direct ferry connection is an excellent option. From the Strandkaiterminalen in Bergen, you can reach the Florø Terminal after a crossing of around three hours. This route is an outstanding alternative to an internal flight from Bergen (BGO) and allows you to experience the impressive Norwegian coastal landscape from the water. The ferry connections run several times a day and offer a relaxed travel option.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time – depending on the cruise line and destination – is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
