Airplane
Chignik Airport (KCG/AJC) is the nearest airport, located approximately 3.7 kilometers from the town center. For guests from the DACH region, the journey typically goes via Anchorage (ANC) to King Salmon (AKN), from where regular scheduled flights with Grant Aviation to Chignik are available. Direct charter flights from Anchorage also offer additional flexibility. Arriving one day before the onward flight to Chignik, including an overnight stay in Anchorage or King Salmon, is highly recommended due to long travel times and potential flight schedule adjustments.
Ferry (Alaska Marine Highway System)
The Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) offers a special travel option, as the ferry MV Tustumena connects Chignik with Kodiak twice a month between April and October. This maritime route allows for a relaxed journey from other Alaskan communities, with the passage from Kodiak to Chignik taking approximately 18 hours and 45 minutes.
