Puerto Banús is the epitome of luxury on the Costa del Sol and is one of the most exclusive ports in the Mediterranean. The famous marina impresses with its combination of Andalusian charm, impressive mega yachts, and first-class designer boutiques under bright blue skies. Highlights in the immediate vicinity include the striking sculpture Rhinocéros habillé en dentelle by Salvador Dalí on the Avenida de Julio Iglesias, as well as the luxurious promenade Calle Ribera and the golden sandy beach Playa de Puerto Banús. Smaller cruise ships and tender boats dock directly in the port of Puerto José Banús, allowing guests to immediately enjoy the sophisticated atmosphere and at the same time explore the nearby historic center of Marbella thanks to the short distances.
Puerto Banús in Marbella is an exclusive marina on the Costa del Sol, which is also visited by smaller cruise ships. Thanks to its excellent connection to the road network and short distances to Málaga Airport, it is easily accessible for guests from the DACH region, although an overnight stay in advance is recommended for a relaxed embarkation.
Airplane
The closest and most relevant airport is Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), located about 60 to 70 kilometers from Puerto Banús. Numerous airlines offer regular direct connections from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, enabling a direct journey to the starting point of your cruise. Due to the travel time and for a stress-free start, it is advisable to arrive a day before embarkation and stay overnight in one of the hotels in Marbella or Puerto Banús.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Málaga Airport (AGP), you can comfortably reach Puerto Banús by transfer. Private taxi transfers are the fastest option, taking about 45 to 50 minutes and bringing you directly to your accommodation or the embarkation point. Shared shuttles are also available, representing a more cost-effective alternative, although they may involve longer travel times. Additionally, there are bus connections from the airport to the Marbella bus station, from where local buses take you to Puerto Banús in around 15 to 20 minutes.
Auto
Puerto Banús is excellently connected to the Autovía del Mediterráneo. You can reach the harbor directly via the A-7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo) or the toll-paying AP-7 (Autopista del Sol). The A-7 is toll-free but can be very busy, especially in the summer months, while the AP-7 allows for a faster and more relaxed journey, though fees apply. In Puerto Banús, several underground car parks are available, such as "Parking Puerto Banús" under Plaza Antonio Banderas or "Parking El Corte Inglés," providing secure parking. Please note that parking can be challenging in the summer.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
