Alcúdia is an enchanting jewel on the northeast coast of Mallorca, captivating visitors with a fascinating blend of rich history and Mediterranean beauty. The region delights with a relaxed atmosphere, turquoise waters, and an impressive mountain backdrop in the hinterland. Absolute highlights include the medieval old town with its striking city wall, the ancient Roman ruins of Pollentia, and the kilometer-long, white sandy beach of Playa de Alcúdia. Cruise ships dock at the Moll Comercial in the port of Puerto de Alcúdia, from where the maritime port district is directly accessible. The historic city center is about two kilometers away and can be easily explored thanks to short distances by shuttle or a picturesque walk along the promenade.
The port of Alcúdia on Mallorca offers cruise passengers a convenient arrival, thanks to good road connections and efficient transfer options from the nearest airport. The terminal is conveniently located near the city center and beach.
Car
You can reach the port of Alcúdia comfortably via the Ma-13 motorway from the direction of Palma. Simply follow the signs for "Puerto de Alcúdia", which will lead you directly to exit 27. Various parking options are available at the port: in addition to paid blue zones along the promenade, there are larger parking areas in the Commercial Dock and Maritime Station area, which include both free and paid sections. Particularly recommended is the official free car park near the sports area, just a five-minute walk from the promenade, which is rarely overcrowded even in high season and has no time limit.
Train
The nearest train station to Port d'Alcúdia is Sa Pobla, about 14 kilometers away. From there, bus connections are available to take you directly to the port. Travelers from Palma can take train lines T1, T2, or T3 to the Palma Intermodal Station and continue by bus, with direct buses connecting Palma, Inca, and Can Picafort with the port.
Airplane
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is the nearest international airport, around 60 kilometers from the port. The journey by car or taxi takes about 45 to 55 minutes via the Ma-13. For a smooth start to your cruise, we recommend arriving the day before and staying overnight in one of the numerous hotels in Port d'Alcúdia. Private shuttles and taxis are available for the transfer from the airport. Alternatively, the TIB public bus network offers the direct A32 line from the airport to Alcúdia/Playa de Muro during the high season (June to mid-September), which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Outside of this period, first take bus line A1 to the Palma Intermodal Station and then line 351 to Port d'Alcúdia.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
