Tropea has its own train station, which is centrally located and thus allows for a short walk to the harbor. Tropea station is connected to the historic Tirrenica Meridionale coastal line and is served by regional and Intercity trains, providing connections from major hubs such as Lamezia Terme, Rosarno, Turin, and Rome. This allows for a relaxed journey by train, particularly attractive for travelers who wish to enjoy the picturesque landscape.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Lamezia Terme (SUF), around 60 kilometers from Tropea. The travel time to the harbor is approximately one hour, and various transfer options are available: From Lamezia Terme Airport, you can take a bus to Lamezia Terme Centrale main station, from where you can easily take the train to Tropea. Alternatively, numerous private transfer services offer a comfortable door-to-door connection directly to your accommodation or the harbor. The walk takes you via well-maintained staircases such as the Scalinata del Porto directly from the viewpoints of the old town down to the sea. Thanks to the clear signage and the constant view of the harbor basin, you will find the way to the ship easily and in about ten minutes.
Shuttle Connections
In high season, small shuttle buses often commute between the upper town and the port area. The departure points at Piazza Cannone are easy to find and allow you a relaxed journey without inclines directly back to the pier.
