Parking in Santa Margherita Ligure is often a cheaper alternative if you also wish to visit nearby Portofino.

It is only a short walk from the station to the tender pier, and local buses also connect the station with the city center and surrounding destinations.

The nearest airport is Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport (GOA), located about 31 kilometers west of Santa Margherita Ligure. The travel time by car or taxi is approximately 34 to 39 minutes. Transfer options from Genoa Airport include taxis or private shuttles directly to Santa Margherita Ligure. Alternatively, travelers can use a combination of bus (e.g., Volabus to Genoa main station) and train to reach Santa Margherita Ligure in about 1 hour 13 minutes. For a wider selection of flight connections from the DACH region, Milan Malpensa (MXP) or Pisa (PSA) are also options, though they require longer transfer times of about 2 to 3 hours.
